What we do

The quickest path to next-generation observability

When your customers demand reliability, you need context-rich logs, and this starts in your code.

Patchwork automates structured logging, freeing your engineers to ship features.

How we do it

Never worry about logging again

Book Demo
Benchmark

Run Patchwork to assess log quality at scale by evaluating your code against best practices.

Improve

Make actionable, context-rich structured logs the new normal across your codebase, in just a few clicks.

Observe

Reap the benefits of structured logs, stored efficiently and queried at lightning speed.

Repeat

Automatically Instrument new code at CI time, ensuring consistency and freeing engineering cycles.

How Patchwork will improve your reliability

Actionable context

When an outage strikes, rich structured logs allow you to understand the complete context and bias to action, fast.

Consistency

Consistent logging across your codebase is critical because the nastiest outages aren’t hitting your main code path.

InfoSec

It’s not viable to simply log everything. To make logging your reliability superpower, you need to capture only the safe and useful data.

Who we are

We have spent our share of time on call and have worked together on complex engineering problems.

We deeply understand why observability is critical to delivering reliable enterprise software.

We don’t love instrumenting code, but we know why it’s worth getting right.

Built by engineers for engineers

Ben Hall

Co-Founder, CEO

Before founding Patchwork, Ben spent five years at Palantir, where he led the zero-to-one effort in the EMEA Utilities sector. Ben was previously the founding Principal Engineer at Oxford Flow, a deep tech startup originating from Oxford Uni's aerospace lab, where he conducted PhD research in jet engine aerodynamics.

Sam Kramer

Co-founder, CTO

Prior to founding Patchwork, Sam spent six years at Palantir. There, he divided his time between deeply technical product development (distributed storage systems) and the customer-centred forward deployed engineering function.

Alex Maass

Co-founder, COO

Alex brings extensive experience from his nine-year tenure at Palantir, where he served as a Forward Deployed Engineering Lead and Production Engineering Manager. He successfully led distributed teams to deliver client-facing projects across diverse industries globally. His background also includes hardware engineering stints at Nvidia and MSI.
